Not in Nuenen on March 18: authorizing someone

Will you not be in Nuenen on March 18 (election day) because you are temporarily staying elsewhere or, for example, on vacation abroad? Then you can authorize someone else to vote for you. The condition is that you yourself are registered in Nuenen and that the person you authorize also lives in Nuenen.

Voting from abroad by mail is not possible in municipal elections.

Written authorization

To authorize someone in writing, follow the steps below. Health your application is received by us no later than Friday, March 13.

  1. Check whether someone is allowed to vote for you
    The person you authorize may be authorized by a maximum of 2 people (so it is not possible to vote for 3 other people).

  2. Fill in the power of attorney form
    Both you and the authorized representative must fill in the power of attorney form. Don't forget to sign the form. Download the form at the bottom of this webpage.

  3. Submit form
    You can return the signed form to us in three ways. The deadline for receiving your application is Friday, March 13.

    - by mail (Postbus , 5670 GA Nuenen);
    - by dropping it off at the reception desk of the town hall;
    - by email to verkiezingen@nuenen.nl.

  4. Receiving proof of proxy
    The person you have authorized will receive proof of proxy by mail. You can no longer revoke this proxy. This means you can no longer vote yourself.

  5. Voting on your behalf
    On election day, the proxy will cast a vote on your behalf.
    Please note: the proxy can only do this when he or she is also casting a vote. It is therefore not possible for someone to vote for themselves in the morning and then return in the afternoon to cast the proxy vote.
