Register party name
Parties can have their name (designation) registered with the municipal central election office. The party's name will then appear at the top of the list of candidates and on the ballot paper. Parties wishing to register their name must be an association with full legal capacity. The statutes of the association must be laid down in a notarial deed.
Why would a new political party register a designation (name)?
Only registered names of parties may be placed above a list of candidates. This name appears on both the candidate list and the ballot paper. A party is also considered new if two or more parties merge by forming a new association. Registration is not mandatory. You can also participate in the election with a so-called blank list. In this case, there is only a number at the top of the candidate list and on the ballot paper.
When is registration of a new party designation not necessary?
1. In case of working through. This means that the name has already been registered for the elections to the House of Representatives or the Provincial Council elections. You may then usually use this name in the municipal elections as well. You then use exactly the same name.
Do you want to make a local addition? Then you must register and have permission from the national/provincial party.
2. Even if your political group submitted a valid list of candidates in the previous municipal election that had the same name above it as the one you want to run with now, you do not have to re-register. It is not important that you won one or more seats in the previous election.
Changing the designation (name)
Do you want to change the name of the party already registered? Then also submit a new registration request.
What condition must a political group meet in order to register a name?
A new grouping wishing to register in the Register of Designations of the Municipality of Nuenen must be an association with full legal capacity. The statutes of the association must be laid down in a notarial deed.
Who may submit the registration request?
The registration request must be made by the appropriate board. Who that is is verified by the central election board of the municipality itself at the Chamber of Commerce. You no longer need to submit an extract from the Chamber of Commerce.
What does registering a designation cost?
To register a designation, you pay a deposit of €112.50. You will get this amount back if you submit a valid list of candidates on the day of the nomination of candidates. No deposit is required to change an appellation.
