Authorize someone else
Two ways to authorize someone
Can't come to the polling place yourself? Then you can authorize someone to do this for you.
You can do this in 2 ways:
- via the back of your voting card ('private authorization')
- or by written authorization ('proxy').
Important: someone who votes for you may only do so at the same time that he or she votes for you.
So it is not possible to come to the polling station earlier or later to cast your vote alone.
Requirements
- A person may be authorized by up to 2 persons.
The authorized person may cast a total of 3 votes: 1 for himself and 2 for other persons. - The proxy shall cast all vote(s) at the same time as his own vote.
Private authorization
You can authorize someone to cast your vote using your voting card. This is called a private authorization.
