Getting married in/from abroad
Do you live abroad and want to get married in Nuenen?
If you both do not live in the Netherlands, you can only marry in our country if you or your partner have Dutch nationality. In that case, your notification of intended marriage will go through the municipality of The Hague. This also applies to a registered partnership.
- Report your proposed marriage/partnership to in The Hague.
Please indicate that the ceremony will take place in the municipality of Nuenen. - Through The Hague, we learn of your proposed marriage.
- We will contact you to discuss the necessary documents.
- It may take a long time to legalize your documents. Please allow for a longer preparation period.
- Keep your original source documents safe. The municipality needs them physically in order to review your application.

Once your marriage certificate has been properly legalized, you can register your marriage in the Netherlands.
