Wishes and considerations regarding the structure of the Eindhoven Metropolitan Region Fund Management

The General Board of the Metropolitan Region intends to set up the Eindhoven Metropolitan Region fund management. Two private limited companies will also be established for this purpose. Before the General Board can decide on this, the councils and executive committees of the participating municipalities will be given the opportunity to express their wishes and reservations about this intention. The executive committee proposes that the council jointly submit its wishes and reservations.

The proposal for this will be submitted to the council for a decision.

DIT Covenant 2026-2029

Since 2019, the municipalities in the Dommelstroom core team (Cranendonck, Heeze-Leende, Geldrop-Mierlo, Nuenen, Son en Breugel, and Valkenswaard) have been working together under the name Dommelstroom Intervention Team (hereinafter: DIT). The aim of this collaboration is to address complex administrative enforcement issues. At the time, the DIT Covenant 2019 was established and signed to formalize the collaboration. The DIT Covenant 2019 has since expired and is no longer legally valid. With this proposal, we are establishing the DIT Covenant 2026-2029 so that data can once again be exchanged between the covenant partners on a legal basis.

The council has decided to adopt the DIT covenant 2026-2029 and to sign the accompanying signature sheet during the DIT administrative consultation on December 15, 2025.

Adoption of Social Return on Investment in Procurement (SROI) policy

When purchasing works and services, we take into account not only the content of the service or work, but also additional ambitions such as sustainability, climate, circularity, and social return on investment (SROI). The aim of SROI is to encourage contractors to create paid jobs and internships for people who are distanced from the labor market. For SROI, the Bizob region works together with a number of SROI coordinators. For the municipality of Nuenen, this task has been assigned to the SROI coordinator of WSD. The SROI policy has been evaluated. This has led to improvement proposals that have been coordinated and approved by the regional Labor Market Portfolio Holders Consultation Southeast Brabant. This updated SROI policy is contained in the document "Social Return Policy 2026." In order for the updated SROI policy to take effect on January 1, 2026, it must be adopted by the municipal councils of all municipalities in the region.

The municipal council has decided to adopt the Social Return Policy 2026.

Council information letter on the development of a second sports hall

Following on from previous research into indoor sports, on June 5, 2025, the municipal council adopted an amendment requesting further exploration of a modest and functional sports hall with three sections and a canteen in Nuenen. This council information letter informs the council about the plan of action.

The council has approved the council information letter detailing the plans for a second sports hall. The council information letter will be sent to the council.

Decision on objection to GDPR request

An objection has been received against the decision of the board of June 10, 2025, to reject the request for the removal of personal data. The objections committee (hereinafter referred to as: the committee) recommends that the objection be declared admissible and unfounded and that the contested decision be upheld.

The board has decided to declare the objection admissible and unfounded and to uphold the decision of June 10, 2025, supplemented by the reasoning in accordance with this opinion.
The objector will be informed by letter.

Principle request for spatial development Pinckart 24

On May 8, 2025, the municipality received a request in principle for the redevelopment of the former Sioux building (address: De Pinckart 24, Berkenbos industrial estate), which currently houses the Klooster Temporalis monastery. The initiator wants to demolish the existing buildings (in the long term) and change the current function to housing with (depending on the chosen target group) 84 to 138 units. The plan focuses on the target groups of expats and students.

However, the council has decided that the location must remain available for commercial activities, in accordance with the applicable environmental plan. The council has therefore decided not to approve the request in principle.
The municipal council will be informed via a council information letter.
