Decision on the appeal against the denial of the enforcement request

An appeal was filed against the decision of October 30, 2025, regarding the private use of a company-owned residence, which rejected the enforcement request of July 22, 2025. The Appeals Committee heard the appeal on February 24, 2026, and issued its recommendation on March 9, 2026. 

The Board has decided, in accordance with the recommendation of the Appeals Committee, to declare the appeal admissible but unfounded, to uphold the contested decision of October 30, 2025, and to deny the request for reimbursement of legal costs pursuant to Section 7:15 of the General Administrative Law Act.

New decision on the application for an environmental permit for Lieshoutseweg 6

The Municipal Executive has received three objections to the environmental permit granted on July 14, 2025, regarding the construction of a multifunctional hospitality space and the creation of an access road. The Municipal Executive will revoke the decision ex officio and issue a new decision on the application for an environmental permit. 

The council has decided to deny the application for an environmental permit for the construction component of the environmental plan.

Energy Transition Implementation Plan 2025–2030

The municipal executive has decided to adopt the Energy Transition Implementation Plan 2025–2030. In addition to outlining how the municipality will implement the energy transition in practice, the plan also serves as the framework for the use of federal funds we have received under the National Insulation Program.

Opinion on the 2027 Budget of the Eindhoven Metropolitan Region

The council will have the opportunity to submit its opinion on the 2027 draft budget for the Eindhoven Metropolitan Region. The executive committee recommends that the council take advantage of this opportunity.

Overview of pending motions and commitments

To conclude its term of office, the Executive Board has adopted a list of pending motions and commitments to the Council. This list will be sent to the new Council for information. These matters will be addressed further during the next term of office.

Opinion on the amendment to the Joint Regulation and the first amendment to the 2026 Program Budget of the GGD Brabant-Zuidoost

The council will have the opportunity to submit its opinion on the amendment to the Joint Arrangement and the first amendment to the 2026 GGD Program Budget. The executive committee recommends that the council take advantage of this opportunity.

Early Childhood Education Policy 2026

The Policy Framework for Early Childhood and Preschool Education outlines how the municipality, in collaboration with partners, identifies and addresses educational disparities at an early stage and expands educational opportunities. This is achieved, among other things, by providing preschool education for toddlers at risk of educational disparities and by promoting additional supportive interventions.

Response to written questions from the CDA caucus

On March 5, 2026, the CDA parliamentary group submitted written questions regarding the lawsuit against the municipality of Bergen.

The executive board has approved the responses to the written questions, which will be sent to the council.
