Response to a letter received from users of De Hongerman

On June 1, 2026, the municipal executive received a letter from the joint users of Scarabee, Kwetternest, Notendop, and the De Hongerman sports hall with questions about the schedule for the renovation of De Hongerman and the future layout and use of the building. Because the municipality is still in discussions with the contractor regarding, among other things, the schedule and the financial consequences of the delay, it was not possible to provide a full response earlier. It is proposed that the attached response letter be approved and sent. The users’ questions have been answered as fully as possible in this letter. Further information will follow via a newsletter as soon as there is more clarity regarding the schedule and implementation.

The council has decided to approve and send the response letter.

Amendment to the Land Sale for the Vinkenhofjes Project

On November 29, 2023, the municipality and Stichting Wooninc. (formerly Woningstichting Helpt Elkander) entered into a preliminary purchase agreement for the Vinkenhofjes project on Vinkenlaan in Nuenen. Due to changes in the project area, the (parts of) parcels to be sold to Wooninc. have also been modified. These changes will be set forth in an addendum to the agreement.

The municipal executive has approved the change to the project area and the change to the (parts of) parcels to be sold by the municipality to Wooninc.

The council has decided to approve and adopt the addendum to the prior purchase agreement for the Vinkenhofjes project, which sets forth the revised project area and the changes to the (parts of) parcels to be sold by the municipality to Wooninc.

Reject the objection to the enforcement request

On August 27, 2025, the appellant requested enforcement action against the installation of a patio without a patio permit. The municipal executive rejected the enforcement request by decision of December 10, 2025. An appeal was filed against this decision. The Appeals Committee issued its recommendation on May 18, 2026. The Committee recommends that the appeal be declared admissible but unfounded and that the contested decision be upheld.
While the appeal proceedings were pending, new violations were identified.

The council has therefore decided, contrary to the recommendation of the Appeals Committee, to declare the appeal admissible and well-founded, to revoke the contested decision, and to decide instead to initiate enforcement proceedings by sending a notice of intent to impose a penalty payment on the business owner in question.
