Integral control business park Eeneind
Nuenen wants to be a municipality where residents, business owners and visitors are safe and feel safe. We would like to keep it that way and further improve it wherever possible. In order to monitor safety and livability in Nuenen, regular checks take place. Thursday, September 17, 2020, an integral check took place at the Eeneind business park in Nuenen.
With the action, several agencies jointly checked several (car) companies in the Eeneind business park for compliance with laws and regulations. The inspection focused on business activities and operations. The business premises were also investigated for illegal activities.
Results
The inspection went well. The entrepreneurs concerned cooperated with the inspection. The mutual cooperation and communication between the partners was good.
Irregularities were found by various agencies involved. However, further investigations must be carried out before any statements can be made as to whether they are actually violations or criminal offenses.
The audit was conducted according to corona guidelines established by the national government.
Joint approach
As a municipality, we want to provide a healthy business environment. That means diversity of companies in our business parks. On business park Eeneind there are relatively many car companies. To investigate whether there is an (un)healthy business climate here, this action focused on checking the car companies on Eeneind.
The check was a joint action of several agencies:
- Municipality of Nuenen
- Police force
- Vehicle Crime Insurance Bureau Foundation
- National Road Transport Office (RDW)
- Employee Insurance Agency (UWV)
- Dutch Tax Office
- Bureau Toezicht Wwft (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (Prevention) Act)
With this joint approach, we want to address and reduce possible illegal activities on Eeneind and thereby make the business park safer and more economically attractive.
Cooperating government
In East Brabant, municipalities cooperate with other governments to monitor safety and livability. It is a task of the cooperating authorities to ensure that laws and regulations are complied with and everyone is given a fair chance. Inspections can therefore take place anytime and anywhere, even when there are no direct signs of criminal activity.
Your report helps us
In addition to the role of the government, your role as a resident or business owner is extremely important. After all, you are the eyes and ears of the neighborhood and with your watchful eye we can tackle organized crime even better. The number of reports has increased enormously in recent times. For example, in East Brabant in 2019 we have doubled the number of drug-related reports received through Report Crime Anonymously compared to the previous year. Your report therefore helps enormously and contributes to a safe living environment.
Do you suspect subversion or crime? Always report suspicious situations!
This can be done, for example, with your neighborhood police officer, but also via Report Crime Anonymously (0800-7000 or www.meldmisdaadanoniem.nl).
