Resource Park GerwenZO!
What is it?
In the sustainable new housing development GerwenZO! a smart resource park has been constructed with four underground containers for: GF+e, PMD, Paper, Residual waste. Raw materials are no longer collected door-to-door. Residents bring their home separated commodities to the commodity park themselves. From now on, residents can dispose of their reusable raw materials, and the small amount of residual waste that remains, 24/7 at one central location in the neighborhood. The GF+e in particular is a new fraction in underground collection.
Separating resources starts in the kitchen. To promote better separation, we offer residents two waste garbage cans. A bio bucket with paper bio bags for the kitchen to collect daily GF+e raw materials. And a larger model bucket with lid to collect them before they go to the container.
This way of separating raw materials is unique in the municipality of Nuenen. With a little extra effort, everyone thus contributes to an ultra-clean neighborhood and a sustainable society. The valuable raw materials are reused and only a small amount of residual waste goes to incineration.
How does it work?
Every GerwenZO home comes with an environmental pass. With this pass, residents can deliver raw materials and residual waste to the raw materials park. By separating everything as thoroughly as possible directly in the kitchen at home, very little residual waste remains. Residual waste can be reduced by 50% if GF+e is better separated from it.
