Bronze Medal of Honor for Elly Dijstelbloem-Friedeman
Mayor Van Genugten has just presented Ms. Elly Dijstelbloem-Friedeman (87) with the bronze medal of honor from the municipality of Nuenen, in recognition of her 50 years of service to the theater company De Lindespelers as a co-founder, actress, director, makeup artist, costume designer, and honorary member. The De Lindespelers theater company is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
Ms. Dijstelbloem has made a significant contribution to cultural life in Nuenen and the surrounding area. In 1976, she was one of the founders of the theater group De Lindespelers. In the early years, she played many roles in performances at De Vank and in street theater productions. She took various courses in makeup and was highly creative in making costumes, hats, and masks. She established the CAN youth theater and introduced children to drama and theater. Elly Dijstelbloem completed the directing program at the Association for Amateur Theater in Den Bosch and became a director. She directed many productions with De Lindespelers, as well as with the musical group Kapsones and Nieuw Eindhovens Toneel. She remained active on the Artistic Committee until 2018 and is currently an honorary member of the theater company De Lindespelers.
Elly Dijstelbloem had already received a royal honor during the 2001 honors list.
With this bronze municipal award, the municipal government wishes to express its appreciation and gratitude on behalf of all residents in general, and to De Lindespelers in particular.
Congratulations!
